The Annual Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance will be held in Bethesda, Maryland, USA February 1-3, 2010. The conference objectives are to:
• Discuss the science, prevention, and control of antimicrobial resistance
• Define issues and potential solutions to the problem of antimicrobial resistance

2. The 13th Annual Conference on Vaccine Research will be held April 26-28, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
The conference serves as an annual forum for presenting and discussing the latest vaccine-related scientific data, results, and issues via symposia and panel discussions by expert faculty and through oral and poster presentations of submitted papers. The goal is to encourage communication among vaccine researchers and developers, public health officials, and medical personnel who administer vaccines. NFID is pleased to continue an International Travel Grants Program for the vaccine conference. This initiative is designed to help vaccine and infectious disease researchers in countries with limited resources attend the conference. The monetary award covers expenses associated with the conference, including conference registration, economy international airfare, hotel, and meals.
3. The Clinical Vaccinology Course will be held November 13-15, 2009 Atlanta, Georgia and March 12-14, 2010 in San Diego, California, USA.
The course is designed to provide a comprehensive background in vaccinology for practicing clinicians. The course format will include didactic presentations, clinical case discussions, and meet the expert small group interaction. Each presentation will emphasize an interactive format with problem-based learning and case presentations where appropriate. The attendees will be encouraged to utilize an audience response system and participate in lively and stimulating question and answer discussions.
